During the Viking Age, prior to their conversion to Christianity, Scandinavians, including those who settled in Britain, worshipped a pantheon of Norse gods. The stories of these deities have endured for millennia, continuing to fascinate and enthral as they are retold and reinterpreted.
The Norse gods are led by Odin, the father of the gods known as the All-Father who sacrificed one of his eyes to gain knowledge. Odin is also lord of Valhalla, the celestial great hall where fallen warriors ascend to feast, drink and fight.
The first bar in our collection honouring the gods of Asgard pays tribute to Odin. Featuring a design in which the All-Father sits in majesty upon a throne, Odin is shown clutching his almighty spear, Gungnir, whilst his ravens, Huginn and Muninn, sit on his shoulders and his wolves, Geri and Freki, lie at his feet.
A limited mintage of 7,000

Thor, the son of Odin the All-Father, is honoured on the second bullion bar in our epic collection honouring the Norse gods. Powerful and supreme, Thor is feared by giants and trolls throughout the nine realms, especially when he wields his iconic hammer Mjollnir.
As the strongest of all gods and men, Thor is the divine protector of the deities of Asgard and all humankind. He drives a chariot, pulled by two male goats named Tanngniost (Teeth-grinder) and Tanngrisnir (Teeth-barer), and wears Megingjard, his belt of strength. It is foretold that at Ragnarök, the twilight of the gods, Thor will battle the monstrous Midgard serpent, slaying the beast whilst succumbing to its foul poison shortly afterwards.
This silver minted bullion bar features an incredibly detailed and skilled illustration of Thor, serving as a solid investment piece or collector’s item for those on Midgard who revere the mighty god of thunder.
Collector boxes for The Royal Mint’s Norse Gods bullion minted bar range are exclusively available with the purchase of the first bar in the series, Odin.
Following the minted bullion bar honouring Odin, chief of the Aesir, the second release in our three-bar collection honouring the Norse gods pays tribute to Thor

The Battle of Britain took place between July and October 1940 in the skies over southern England. A defensive campaign, it prevented Germany from gaining air superiority prior to a planned invasion of Great Britain.
Eventually, the Luftwaffe was defeated by RAF Fighter Command, forcing the attack to be abandoned. This bullion bar honours this important military campaign, the pilots and support network that secured victory.
